Children are highly vulnerable in any disaster, therefore, their protection needs specific attention. Past experiences of disasters have shown that vulnerability of schools is high during disasters. It has also been noted that schools play a vital role during and after disasters, often providing a haven for communities and playing a critical role in people's coping strategies.

Given the seriousness of the matter, it's highly desirable that all schools develop their school fire safety management plan and install the required fire safety equipment.
